Authentic Buffalo Wing Recipe
Mouth watering, crispy, saucy, spicy, tangy, and buttery chicken wings. How to make perfectly succulent Buffalo wings at home.
- 4 lbs flats & drums
- 1 1/4 tbsp Buffalo Bite
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup hot sauce cayenne pepper based (such as Franks)
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar or honey (optional)
Start by patting dry your wings. Add the wings to a bowl and toss with 3/4 tbsp Buffalo Bite and the baking powder.
You can use a grill, oven, or air fryer. If using the oven, place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
Cook the spice rubbed wings at 400º F for 45 min (or if you have an oven with a broiler, see the next step). Be sure to flip/ rotate the wings every ten minutes or so to ensure even cooking. While they are cooking start the sauce.
If using the broiler (recommended for extra crispy wings) cook for 40 min at 400º F. Then, with the pan on the middle rack and the broiler on high, cook for another couple of minutes. Be careful to not overcook at this stage. They are finished once golden and crispy.
In a saucepan combine the butter, hot sauce, 1/2 tbsp Buffalo Bite, and the honey or brown sugar (optional). Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium-low heat, stirring throughout, once simmering remove from heat.
Finally toss the wings in the sauce.
This recipe is made for medium heat, to adjust the heat add more or less Buffalo Bite.
