Salmon honey mustard with toasted pecans
A salmon bake featuring homemade honey mustard sauce and a toasted pecan topping.
Equipment
- Oven with broil function.
- oven safe pan/ baking sheet
Ingredients
- 2 lb salmon filet or side
- 1/2 cup mustard whole grain
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 lemon zested & juiced (~2 tbsp juice)
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp Purely Seasoning Original
- 1/8 tsp black pepper coarse ground
- 1/2 cup pecans
- cooking oil high heat
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400º F.
- Mix together all the topping ingredients besides the pecans and oil.
- Place salmon on an oiled pan or baking sheet. Cover the salmon with the honey mustard sauce.
- Bake salmon for 12-14 minutes. Remove once it is 5-10º F below how you would like it cooked (internal temp). While the salmon is cooking, start the pecans.
- Add pecans to separate pan over medium heat. Stir often. Toast until fragrant. About 3-4 minutes.
- Once the salmon is done, change the oven to its broil function. Broil on high for 2-3 minutes to crisp up the outside. Remove once it is cooked to your liking.
- Plate the salmon and top with the toasted pecans. Finish with Purely Seasoning Original to taste.
- Enjoy!
