Equipment

  • food processor (optional)

Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce dark
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 2 tbsp ginger root minced
  • 2 tbsp garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 2 tbsp Purely Seasoning's Original Seasoned Salt
  • 1 tbsp seasoned rice wine vinegar
  • ½ cup sherry or dry vermouth
  • ½ cup sesame seeds toasted & processed in food processor to release flavor (optional)
  • 2 – 3 green onions & tops sliced
  • ¼ cup sesame oil dark
  • cup avocado oil

Instructions

  • Whisk together all ingredients except oil. Let sit for a few minutes to allow the sugar and salt to dissolve. Add oil and whisk again. Pour over meat. Coat thoroughly and allow to marinate up to three hours, recoating occasionally. Do not marinate longer. The soy sauce and salt tend to toughen the meat. Can be used for beef (any steak, but especially good on tenderloin), pork tenderloin, and chicken. May be used on vegetables, fish, or tofu as a basting sauce but do not marinate.
  • Amounts of any of the ingredients in this recipe can be varied according to taste. Be sure to use fresh ginger root and garlic. Powdered is not a substitute. Candied Ginger may be substituted.
